The Loews Hollywood Hotel

We have a block of rooms at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. Book your room as soon as you can using our Hotel Booking Link or calling reservations at 855-563-9749 and mentioning the Hive Global Leaders Program. We encourage all participants coming from out of town to stay in the hotel to create a residential feel for the program.
Which nights should I book at the hotel?
Please check-in by Friday December 8 and checkout on either Monday December 11 or Tuesday December 12. You can come early and stay late if you wish. If you’ll be checking out on Monday, the hotel will be able to hold any luggage you may have until Monday evening. The Hive staff will be offering additional free life coaching the morning of Tuesday, December 12 for those who choose to stay the extra night.

What is the closest airport?
The closest airport is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). You can get an Uber or Lyft to the hotel venue for about $40. Taxis will be closer to $70.

Where and when does the program begin?

The Hive Global Leaders Program will officially begin at 8pm on Friday December 11, 2017 with an evening social gathering at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. We recommend ensuring your flight arrives in Los Angeles before 6:00pm to give yourself time to arrive and check-in.

What is the schedule for the program?

Friday December 8th – 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Opening Session)
Saturday December 9th – 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, 8:30pm to 10:30pm (Day 1: The World)
Sunday December 10th – 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, 8:30pm to 10:30pm (Day 2: Your Life)
Monday December 11th – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Day 3: Your Leadership)

There will be lunch breaks each day from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. Each evening, you’ll be free to go out with other Hivers, go off on your own to explore Los Angeles, or join us in the hotel’s H2 Bar for socializing. Our weekend concludes on Monday at 6:00pm with a graduation ceremony. We recommend booking any departing flights on Monday after 8pm or staying the extra night to ensure you’re there for the completion of the program. Please note that no food will be provided on Friday December 8, so we recommend coming to the Opening Session having already eaten dinner.

Can I bring a guest or friend?
We have just a few spots left for this Hive program. If you wish to bring a partner, guest, colleague, or friend who is working on creating a better world, you may. Please have them register at www.www.hive.org/register. The price to attend is $1250.

What do I need to do before I attend?
Upload your headshot and a short biography about you by completing the form here.
We will share your profiles with the rest of your cohort a week or two prior to the program.

What should I wear? What will the weather be like?
Temperatures in Los Angeles are usually between 60 and 75 degrees F (16 to 24 C) in December. Keep it casual and relaxed and wear whatever is most comfortable for you. Bring a jacket or a sweater for the evenings or in case the room may be a bit chilly during the days. Clothing that allows for brief stretching and some light outdoor activities is recommended. There’s no need to bring any formal attire.

How should I prepare myself for Hive?
We encourage you to bring your open, authentic and compassionate selves. It is worthwhile to reflect on what you’re most passionate about, what change you want to make in the world, and why you feel you’re alive on this planet. Please spend time in advance reflecting on the answers to these questions.
  1. What do I want to do with the next phase of my life?
  2. Deep down, what do I feel is my purpose/calling/mission for the next few years?
  3. What am I alive to do? What do I want to leave behind when I die?
What food options are nearby?
There are many high quality and healthy food options available within walking distance of the Loews Hollywood Hotel for lunch breaks and dinners, including an adjacent mall. The hotel also has a good restaurant called Preston’s with California-inspired cuisine.

Can I come early and stay late?
Yes, if you wish to have a few extra days in Los Angeles feel free to come early or stay late. If you have the time, we recommend checking out nearby Santa Monica or Venice Beach, stopping by Universal Studios, catching a Lakers or Clippers NBA game, or going for a hike in Griffith Park. Or for the more adventurous, take a day trip to nearby Joshua Tree or Ojai.

What Hive events are coming up in 2018?
Hive alumni are already planning Hive events in 2018 in Nigeria, Kenya, Costa Rica, Germany, Singapore, The Phillippines, and Mexico. All Hive alumni will be invited to attend these events.
